New Mount Prospect Police Chief Michael Semkiu Replaces Retiring John Dahlberg

Michael Semkiu was sworn in as the new Police Chief of Mount Prospect Police Department Tuesday night. The former deputy chief was hired in 1983, and was promoted to sergeant in 1998 and commander in 2002, and then deputy chief in 2004.

Chief Semkiu is also an attorney, who received his law degree from the John Marshall Law School after earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago.

Chief Semkiu replaces retiring police chief John Dahlberg.
