Schaumburg Boomers took on the Florence Freedom, 5-2. The win is credited to a lead off bunt by Drew Heithoff (2B) and a two-run homer by Nate Baumann (RF). Over 5,000 were in attendance. The Schaumburger and the stadium venue got good reviews.
The Schaumburg Boomers are a professional baseball team opening with their first game at home in the independent Frontier League. Home field is Schaumburg Baseball Stadium, formerly Alexian Field, at 1999 South Springinsguth.
The Florence Freedom are from Florence, Kentucky.
