Lamborghini Crashes in Chicago Suburbs: A $225,000 Lamborghini Gallardo racing through a turn on Chicago suburban street doesn’t end well. The YouTube channel publisher, “Good thing I had the video camera out to record it all. Can’t believe this actually happened.”
Wheeling firefighter/paramedics and police responded on Mother’s Day afternoon (May 13 2012) to a report of a crash with entrapment at Palatine Road and Wheeling Road. Damage to the three vehicles involved in the crash was moderate, but one of the cars was a Lamborghini Gallardo that made a left turn from westbound Palatine Frontage Road to southbound Wheeling Road. The Lamborghini driver couldn’t negotiate the turn and ended up in the northbound lanes — hitting two vehicles head-on and wedging in between them.
Usually a crash with entrapment involves a wreck of mangled steel or an overturned vehicle, but this entrapment was simply caused by a slight wedge between two vehicles. Both side doors could not be opened while both victim vehicles straddled the Lamborghini.
Police first on the scene reported no injuries and eventually no entrapment that required any fire-rescue operations — simply movement of the vehicles.
The YouTube video of the Lamborghini went viral after it was published on May 12, 2012. On May 15 the video had views in the 300K range. By Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. the video had over 3.4 million views.
