Driver Injured in DUI Crash on West Palatine Road, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:05 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 to a DUI crash of a commercial pickup truck in the westbound frontage lanes east of Windsor Drive. Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to find the driver had been helped out of the truck by other motorists that arrived on the scene. A small fire in the engine compartment was extinguished by firefighters. the truck jumped lanes from express lanes to frontage lanes and hit a utility pole.

The driver was transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, and was arrested and charged with DUI. The driver’s truck was towed to a police holding area.
