Hit-and-Run Crash with Injuries I-90 Near Arlington Heights Rd, Suspect DUI Driver Flees

Illinois State police responded to a hit-and-run personal injury crash about 7:00 a.m. Monday on the eastbound I-90 near Arlington Heights Road. Illinois State Police alerted area police officers and troopers that a suspected DUI driver, driving a silver Acura with Wisconsin license plates, fled the scene eastbound on I-90 to I-190 and into the O’Hare International Airport terminal area. The driver was reported to be throwing beer bottles out of the Acura as he fled the scene.

Police were updated that the driver with the Acura was later seen northbound on I-294.

The vehicle was stopped about 8:18 a.m. Monday by North Chicago police on Elmhurst Parkway at Route 41. The driver was transported in custody to a police jail — unknown location. The river’s Acura TSX was towed to a police holding area.
