On Wednesday, Ohio State Troopers released dashcam video of a trooper in pursuit of a wrong-way driver just seconds before a deadly crash that killed four people, including the driver.
A wrong-way driver traveled in her vehicle for about seven miles and was being pursued by police when it narrowly missed one car full of sorority sisters. The vehicle then collided into a second vehicle of traveling sorority sisters early Friday March 2, 2012 on Interstate 75 south of Toledo.
Five sorority sisters from Alpha Xi Delta were in the second car that was part of a caravan with eleven other sorority sisters.
Killed were Christina Goyett, 19, a sophomore from Bay City, Michigan; Sarah Hammond, 21, a junior from Yellow Springs, Ohio, majoring in apparel merchandising; and Rebekah Blakkolb, 20, a junior from Aurora, Ohio.
The wrong-way driver was identified as Winifred D. Lein, 69, of Perrysburg, Ohio. She was driving alone and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two sorority sisters were critically injured: Angelica Mormile, 19, a freshman from Garfield Heights, Ohio; and Kayla Somoles, 19, a sophomore from Cleveland.
