Two Vehicle Burglaries at Holiday Inn Express Parking Lot Yield Some Expensive Loot

Arlington Heights police received a report about 7:01 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 of a burglary to vehicle at Holiday Inn Express, 2120 South Arlington Heights Road. Police discovered a second vehicle burglarized while on the scene. This case was earlier reported in The Cardinal on Thursday March 8 as one vehicle burglary.

An unknown offender or offender shattered the passenger side windows on silver 2012 Dodge Ram and a white 2007 Honda Ridgeline. The offender(s) removed an Anritsu electronic measuring device in a silver hard case valued at $5,000 from the Dodge and a black plastic bin of various tools valued at $5,000 from the Honda. Multiple items of value were in plain view.


Somewhere a fence is very happy with his subordinate thieve(s)?

The crime is reported to have occurred between Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 8th, 2012 at 6:55 a.m.

For information only — with no reason to believe these cases are connected– Arlington Heights police arrested three men the next day after suspicious activity was reported in the parking lot of Burlington Coat Factory on West Rand Road. The men were found with a car full of DeWalt tools.   1. I don’t know why the police don’t go to the hot areas and set these thieves up? Start with X Sport and the motels on the South end. Leave a car unlocked with valuables in plain view- and bust the guys. Enough is enough.
