Yesenia Enriquez, 23, of Chicago has been identified as the victim of a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian incident on Quentin Road, just south of Northwest Highway. Yesenia Enriquez was hit when she stepped in front of a Toyota Camry that was northbound on Quentin Road.

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:37 p.m. Thursday to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident at Quentin Road and Peder Lane. Enriquez had apparently run across the four-lane roadway when she was hit. She had no pulse when firefighter/paramedics arrived.

Quentin Road was closed between Northwest Highway and Colfax Street for rescue and investigation.

The location was close to a train vs. car crash that occurred almost three hours later at 8:24 p.m. at the railroad crossing at Quentin and Colfax a few blocks south. No injuries were reported in the train vs. car crash.

Palatine Police Technical Accident Investigators Team is investigating the crash.

The incident is the third fatality involving a young adult in the northwest suburbs this week. Jeremy Fink, 23, was killed Wednesday night when the car he was driving hit an upright bridge support of Biesterfield Road over southbound Route 53. Matthew Svedman, 19, was killed when he stepped into the path of vehicle heading southbound on Rand Road, south of Euclid Avenue.
