Three Shot Near Milwaukee Avenue and Cortez Were Trying to Stop Car Thieves Near Frontier Restaurant on Milwaukee Ave, Chicago

Chicago police and fire department paramedics responded about 8:15 p.m. Thursday to a report of multiple gunshot victims near Frontier restaurant, 1072 North Milwaukee Avenue. One victim was transported to Level I Trauma Center Northwestern Memorial Hospital and two victims were transported to Level I Trauma Center John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

Two males and a female were shot in the 1400 block of West Cortez Street behind the restaurant — to the west. The three were employees of Frontier restaurant, and were trying to stop offenders from stealing another employee’s vehicle that was parked behind the restaurant on Cortez or in a back alley.

Police are searching for six male/Hispanic suspects possibly involved in the shooting.
