Elk Grove Village police responded about 8:26 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a residential burglary in the block of 0-99 block of Woodcrest. Police received a report that the residents arrived home and discovered the back door was kicked. The residents waited outside before police arrived to search and determine the house was clear of offenders. Elk Grove Village police were on the scene within two minutes, and met with the homeowner.
The crime is reported to have occurred between 7:00 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.
