Power Outage, Blown Transformer on Thomas St Between Dunton Ave and Vail Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighters responded about 11:20 p.m. to a report of a transformer blown on Thomas Street between Dunton Avenue and Vail Avenue. Firefighters discovered a tree limb on a power line in the 0-99 block of West Thomas Street. Transformer problems were also reported in the 1400 block of North Chestnut Avenue and the 1400 block of North Vail Avenue.

Numerous burglar and fire alarms were activated near downtown Arlington Heights, and on Dundee Road.

Com Ed responded to the area by 11:35 p.m. Firefighters were communicating with Com Ed regarding their discoveries in the area.

A recent power failure also affected downtown Arlington Heights and the west side of town near Kennicott and Northwest Highway on February 15, 2012. Com Ed was quick repair service at that location, also.
