Crash Ties Up Eastbound Interstate 90 Near Arlington Heights Rd Saturday

Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics, Illinois State Police and IDOT crews responded about 3:49 p.m. Saturday to eastbound Interstate 90 at mile marker 71 for a four-car crash with injuries. The crash, just east of Arlington Heights Road was reported as a rollover crash by at least one person, but apparently there was no rollover. All injuries were minor, but the right and center lanes of eastbound Interstate 90 were blocked for about one hour with a backup developing over one-mile long.

At least two people were transported to an area hospital. Well over 50 crashes occurred yesterday between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the northwest suburbs near Arlington Heights when only one inch of snow fell between about 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Friday. An above-average number of crashes and motorist assists occurred Saturday in the area after the area was under a Winter Weather Advisory on Friday.
