Theft of Wallet from Purse at Corner Bakery, Arlington Heights: Then Credit Card, Debit Card Use Over $5,000

Arlington Heights police received a report Saturday afternoon of a wallet from a purse at Corner Bakery, 470 East Rand Road. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders removed a wallet from a purse hanging on the back of a chair. The purse was out of the owner’s view. The wallet is described as bright pink and contained credit cards and debit cards, cash, and a driver’s license. The offender used the credit cards and debit cards to complete several transactions in Wheeling and Buffalo Grove for a total loss of over $5,000.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday, January 21st, 2012 between 12:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.
