Fire Department Dive Team Attempts to Rescue Black Lab After Fall Through Ice in Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:40 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2011 to a report that a dog fell through the ice on a pond behind a clubhouse in the 1100 block of Franklin Lane. Five dive team members entered the icy pond, but were unable to located the dog, which was described as a black Labrador retriever. The owner of the dog called emergency responders later in the day to ask if the dog had been found, and was advised that the dog was not found.
