Laptop computer, case and GPS taken from the Ford Escort were discovered at the scene of the Toyota Highlander when an offender was interrupted. A purse from the silver Nissan Altima was also found in a neighbor’s yard.

Arlington Heights police received a report about 8:58 p.m. Saturday of a burglary to vehicle in progress in the 1900 block of North Verde. Police received a report that an offender just took items from the back seat of a vehicle and took off.

Police immediately set up a perimeter in the area of Kennicott and Palatine Road and west toward Route 53. Police also received a report that the offender may have taken a suitcase. The item may have been taken in an earlier burglary that was reported in the 2400 block of North Kennicott Avenue at about 8:16 p.m.

A third victim drove away from the neighborhood and realized that a purse was missing from the vehicle. The victim returned to the neighborhood to give report to the police already on the scene for the first two vehicle burglaries.

One of the victims described the offender as a male/white thin build, wearing a black hoodie that was walking southbound on the west side of Verde toward Palatine Road.

Police also received a report of two people walking southbound near garden path north of the Frontier Park fieldhouse. The two subjects were found entering a white SUV parked in the lot south of the Frontier Park facility about 9:25 p.m. They were investigated and released.
