San Carlos Best Buy Burglarized: Two Offenders Get 125 Apple iPads in Entire Steel Rack

San Mateo County Sheriff’s police (San Carlos bureau) responded about 11:49 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 to an audible alarm at the Best Buy Store, 1127 Industrial Road in San Carlos. Deputies arrived within one minute of being dispatched, and upon arrival, the sheirff deputies discovered that the store had been burglarized and that 125 Apple iPads had been stolen.


The unknown suspects entered the store by prying open the front doors, then prying up the security roll-up door using a floor jack. The suspects then slid under the roll-up door to gain entry. Once inside the store, the suspects stole the iPads which were inside a locked 4’x4’x2’ steel rack. The suspects dragged the steel rack outside a fire exit door and into an unkown type vehicle. The suspects then fled the scene.

Suspect #1 is described as a male, slim build, black jacket, black pants, black beanie, white shoes and holding a yellow crow-bar.

Suspect #2 is described as a male, 5’10” to 6’0″ tall, slim build, black hoodie, black pants

No vehicle description associated with the suspects is available at this time.

The loss is estimated to be over $100,000. The case is under investigation by the San Mateo County Sheriffs Office.
