Raw Video: Fuel Tanker Explodes in Australia; May Have Been Caused by Lightning

A truck driver was hurt when his fuel tanker exploded in Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday. Australia’s Channel 9 reported that around 500 people had to be evacuated from a nearby nightclub.

Country Fire Authority crews arrived at a petrol station in Rowville, Austrailia near Melbourne to find fire stretching almost 500 feet from the service station to nearby Stamford Inn.

The 35-year-old truck driver was seriously burned. He was transported to The Alfred hospital.

A petrol tanker truck, filled with about 5200 gallons of fuel, was the source of the fire, which may have been caused by lightning.
