New Year’s Fireworks at Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia

Huge crowds lined Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour as a spectacular firework display lit up the skies. Media reports claimed as many as 400-thousand people were expected to attend the four-minute show.

Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong is a natural landform harbor situated between Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. The harbor’s deep, sheltered waters and strategic location on the South China Sea were instrumental in Hong Kong’s establishment as a British colony and its subsequent development as a trading center.

The Victoria Harbour Precinct of Sydney, Australia is home to the National Australia Bank headquarters, Ericsson Melbourne offices and the Austrailia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) world headquarters.
