Chicago-Arlington Heights Snowfall: New Snowfall One-Eighth Inch, Snow Cover One-Eighth Inch

A total of one-eigth inch of light, dry snow fell from 2:50 a.m. Friday until 4:00 a.m. Snow cover at 4:30 a.m. in Arlington Heights was one-eighth inch (0.625 inch) on grassy areas and pavement. Snow plows are applying de-icing agents. The snow is light, dry and powdery.

At 4:45 a.m. Friday radar shows light narrow bands of snow precipitation moving toward the east away from the area. The radar’s precipitation image is also diminishing. Infrared satellite at 4:40 a.m. Friday shows the trailing edge of clouds in northwest Illinois. Sunny skies are forecast for today.
