Strong Natural Gas Odor in the Area of Bauer’s Brauhouse, Near Slade and Brockway

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:06 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a strong natural gas odor near Bauer’s Brauhouse, 45 West Slade Street. Police arrived within a minute and reported the odor of gas was readily apparent — even in the vehicle in traffic.

Firefighters responded within two minutes and reported no gas readings in the basement of Bauer’s Brauhouse. Firefighters were possibly pinpointing the source of the leak near Blue Moon Footwear Discounters, 43 West Slade Street.
