Rolling Meadows police responded about 3:07 a.m. Sunday to at least two reports of a disturbance and shots fired in the area of the 4700 block of Woodland Court and also in the area of 2400 Plum Grove Road (Meacham Road).
Police discovered a male walking in the area of Meacham Road and Woodcliff Lane about 3:10 a.m. Sunday. Police also discovered a Mazda running unoccupied in the 4700 block of Woodland Court.
Cook County Sheriff also responded to a similar report (the third report) of a disturbance in the unincorporated 100 block of Meacham Road. Police were looking for shell casings for a 9 mm semi-automatic in the area.
Police reported a gun was thrown in the grass near the 2400 block of Plum Grove Road. Apparently the gun was discovered, but that information is not confirmed. Police reported they were transporting evidence to Rolling Meadows Police Department Headquarters.
Police also towed the Mazda to Rolling Meadows Police Department Headquarters for further investigation. Police were working on a K-9 unit for tracking. No confirmation whether they were tracking for evidence, a suspect or both. Rolling Meadows police are investigating. Police had one male in custody overnight.
