High-Performance Ford Mustang Crash Near Grainer Woods on St. Mary’s Rd, Mettawa

Lincolnshire-Riverwood Fire Protection District and Countryside Fire Protection District firefighter/paramedics, and Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 9:09 a.m. Monday to a one-car extrication accident on St. Mary’s between Route 60 and Everett, Mettawa. Rescuers received a report that a car crashed into the woods with a person trapped in the vehicle.

Firefighter/paramedics discovered a high-performance Ford Mustang up against a telephone pole with a victim unconscious and trapped in the car. An extrication operation was underway Monday morning with the victim rescued from the car about 9:35 a.m.

The crashed Ford Mustang was a high-performance custom kit car consisting of much fiberglass material.
