Police Activity Near Palatine Rd and Schoenbeck: Citizen Report of Officer Down Unfounded

Wheeling police received a 911 call about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday from a passing motorist that reported a police officer down on eastbound Palatine Road, somewhere near Schoenbeck Road. Wheeling police checked with area police departments to see if any of the agencies had an officer in the area. None of the agencies had a police officer in the area. Eventually Wheeling police, Prospect Heights police, Arlington Heights police and Cook County Sheriff police arrived to check the area. After meeting with the witness, police determined the witness saw the incident about one-quater west of Schoenbeck Road near the eastbound frontage lanes of Palatine Road.
