Horse Kicks Sprinkler Pipe at Arlington Park Horse Barn, Sets Off Waterflow Fire Alarm

Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows firefighters responded about 10:35 a.m. Saturday to a fire alarm at a horse barn in the backstretch at Arlington Park Racetrack. Firefighters arriving on the scene discovered a sprinkler system waterflow alarm and investigated a signal from Barn 15.

Firefighters discovered a horse apparently kicked a sprinkler pipe in the ceiling of the barn over stall #4.

Firefighters were working with race track maintenance personnel to resolve the situation.

No report of injury to the horse.
