Attempted Bank Robbery at Village Bank at Rand & Olive, Prospect Heights

Prospect Heights police on the scene of an attempted bank robbery at Village Bank & Trust in Prospect Heights at Rand Road and Olive Street.

Prospect Heights police responded at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday to a bank holdup alarm from a teller station at Village Bank, 1845 East Rand Road. Police arrived within two minutes and were told that the offender had fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, but he may have fled toward Arlington Heights.


The offender handed a note to the teller that demanded money. The offender did not get any money. The offender was described as a male/black, approximately 22-years-old, 5’11” 160 LBS, wearing a winter hat with a bill (like a baseball cap), a light-blue T-shirt with a white undershirt, black pants and white gym shoes.
