Victor Pantaleo, 68, of Darien Killed, Passenger Injured in Plane Crash in Romeoville

Victor Pantaleo, 68, of Darien and second person whose identity has not been released were onboard the Cessna 210 when it crashed near the Lewis University Airport in Romeoville about 2:45 p.m. Sunday.

The aircraft took off from Brookeridge Air Park in Downers Grove and was at a low altitude before it hit a tree and power lines and came to rest on the lawn of the St. Charles Borromeo Pastoral Center near the Lewis University Airport.

The passenger could not be rescued from the plane until power to the live power lines was cut by Com Ed. Witness report the pilot was unconscious and the passenger was screaming for help. No word on the condition of the passenger or to what hospital he was transported.
