Kory Mark of Crystal Lake Killed in Motorcycle vs. SUV Crash in Island Lake; Three Motorcyclists Killed in Chicagoland in 24 Hrs

KORY MARKS THIRD MOTORCYCLIST TO DIE IN CRASH IN 24 HOURS FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON TO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON IN CHICAGOLAND

Island Lake police and Wauconda firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:00 p.m. to a fatal motorcycle vs. SUV crash at the intersection of Route 176 and Hale Lane.

Motorcyclist Kory Marks was transported to Centegra Hospital in McHenry, and was pronounced dead at 1:42 p.m. Wednesday. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of a GMC Jimmy, who made a left turn onto Hale Avenue from Route 176 in front of the motorcycle was cited failure to yield.

Route 176 was closed at Hale Avenue until just after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday for accident investigation.

Alcohol intoxication is not suspected related to the crash, but toxicology test were initiated and results are expected in about four to six weeks.
