Arlington Heights police and Elk Grove police responded about 11:50 a.m. Sunday to a report of an off-duty police officer detaining an offender that was involved in a rolling domestic disturbance. The offender was reported to be beating a passenger in a vehicle as the vehicle was exiting westbound Interstate 90.
The off-duty officer held a suspect until Arlington Heights police and Elk Grove Village police arrived. The Illinois State Police were called to the scene because the incident happened on Interstate 90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway). The suspect’s vehicle was stopped just south of the Guitar Center store near the I-90 exit to Arlington Heights Road.
