Naperville police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:30 a.m. Sunday to the 16 Jefferson Avenue, the location of Blackfinn American Saloon in Naperville to a report of a security guard stabbed. The injured security guard was transported to Level II Trauma Center Edward’s Hospital.
The stabbing occurred after Adam B. Hearn, 31, and his girlfriend Kelly Cihlar, 25, were caught smoking in a bathroom. Security staff asked the couple to smoke outside, and Adam Hearn was uncooperative and verbally abusive. When the couple was asked to leave a struggle began with Hearn and a security guard, and Hearn then stabbed the security guard in the abdomen. The knife was concealed in his pocket. Additional security staff were able to detain Adam Hearn until Naperville police arrived.
Adam Hearn, of the 900 block of South Main Street in Lombard was charged with three Class 3 felonies: aggravated battery with a weapon, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and possession of a weapon by a felon.
Kelly Cihlar, of the 2700 block of Mohawk Avenue in Woodridge, was arrested and charged with obstruction of a police officer, resisting arrest, battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis.
Research for Adam B. Hearn on Google shows that an Adam B. Hearn was one of three men and one woman arrested when Jefferson Park (16th) Police District tactical officers Feb. 25, 2004 confiscated almost $6,000 worth of MDMA/Ecstacy. No confirmation whether the named individuals are the same person.
