Elgin-O’Hare Expressway Closed Down For Ice, Multiple Crashes; Crashes on Skokie Blvd, I-55, I-57, I-80 Too

Roselle Fire Department, Hanover Park Fire Department and Elk Grove Village Fire Department responded to multiple crashes on the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway.

A rollover crash was reported at the Elgin O’Hare Expressway and Gary Avenue. Crashes on the west end were being handled by Hanover Park and Roselle. A rollover crash.

A crash at the Elgin O’Hare and Mitchell involved a crash with an ejection of one person. Elk Grove Village Fire Department.


Elk Grove Village firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:40 p.m. Saturday and were helping people from three crashes — all on the overpass of the Elgin-O’Hare over Meacham Road.

Crashes were occurring as firefighter/paramedics and Illinois State Police troopers were managing other crashes.

IDOT salt trucks were concentrating on Elgin O’Hare Expressway at about 6:25 p.m. Saturday.

I-94 and Touhy a 15-car crash

A crash was also reported at I-57 and Saulk Trail

Mokena Fire Department responded to a crash on I-80 westbound.

Firefighters were also calling for ramps to be shut down on Skokie Boulevard near Old Orchard

Mannheim at Lake both directions of Mannheim

Southbound 171 and I-55 (Archer and I-55)

I-80 west of I 57 vehicle in a ditch

I-80 eastbound at Kedzie Avenue

Devon West of Cicero near the Edens

Southbound Harlem at I-55

Evanston has closed down Church and McCormick and Dempster and McCormick and other intersections in the area
