School Bus Crash Involving Three Vehicles Algonquin and Dempster, Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:45 a.m. Friday to Algonquin and Dempster to a report of a crash involving a school bus and three other vehicles. A motorist reported that the exhaust from the bus was entering a black Chevy Malibu — causing a hazard. One person reporting a neck and/or head injury. All students being ‘accounted for.’

Police arrived first and reported a total of four vehicles crashed.

Elk Grove Township firefighter/paramedics assisted Mount Prospect firefighter/paramedics.

Arlington Heights police assisted Mount Prospect Police Department — blocking eastbound Algonquin Road near Briarwood.

One lane of eastbound Algonquin Road was opened at about 8:30 a.m. Friday.

The bus was carrying 11 students to Holmes Junior High School at 1900 West Lonnquist Blvd in Mount Prospect.
