Loud Bang on S. Derbyshire/E. Northwest Highway Was Car Engine ‘Explosion’ — No Fire

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:40 PM Sunday to a report of a loud bang in the 300 block of South Derbyshire. A few neighbors heard the loud bang. Police also received a report from a vehicle owner that the engine exploded but that there was no fire to a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of East Northwest Highway.

Arlington Heights police and firefighters investigated the automobile incident. No working fire reported.
