A school janitor was arrested in the shooting death of a Northern Calif. elementary school principal Wednesday. Police say the shooting happened in the school’s office, and no children were hurt.
Placerville (Louisiana) police and El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 10:37 a.m. Tuesday to report of a shooting at Louisiana Schnell School, 2871 Schnell School Road.
Louisiana Schnell Elementary School Principal Sam LaCara, 50, was shot in the upper torso and pronounced dead at Placerville’s Marshall Hospital at 11:16 a.m.
John Luebbers, 43, a custodian and friend of the principal at the school was taken into custody after the shooting at his El Dorado residence.
The Schnell campus was put on lockdown status and was scheduled to be closed through Thursday along with two other schools in the school district.
