UPDATE: 1 Caught? Two Liquor Theft Suspects Get Away at Jewel on South Arlington Heights Rd

UPDATE: One of the liquor theft suspects may have been apprehended Tuesday night about 9:30 p.m. at 2175 South Tonne.

Arlington Heights police responded about 5:15 PM Tuesday to a report of retail theft in progress at Jewel-Osco, 1860 South Arlington Heights Road. Police received a report that two male/black suspects were attempting to steal liquor from the liquor department.

Police arrived within minutes, but the subjects fled the store and jumped a fence near the Century 21 in the shopping center.

Police tracked the suspect’s footprints in the snow eastbound across Arlington Heights Road all the way to the Tanglewood Apartments near South Goebbert Road, where the trackes were lost.

It is unknown if the suspects got any merchandise. Arlington Heights police are investigating.
