The NFL said today that Jim Cornelison, who sings a strong national anthem at Chicago Blackhawks games, will sing the Star Spangled Banner at Sunday’s Bears-Packers game.

Apparently, the Chicago Bears are working with Lee DeWyze to perform at halftime for the Bears-Packer game hosted by the Chicago Bears.

Last Sunday, Cornelison sang the national anthem in the divisional playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, with his traditional enthusiastic roaring from the crowd.

Since Fox televises the “American Idol” competition an the upcoming NFC playoff championship, we’ll see if there’ a connection.
