Interview with LAPD Detective Alfredo Rasch: Los Angeles Police detectives are looking for help in finding a man and woman who held up a downtown LA jewelry store at gunpoint. The pair got away with $8,000 but not before a high resolution camera captured the entire hold-up.

Two suspects — a male/black (armed) and a female/Hispanic carrying bottled water entered a store and robbed merchants of $8,000 cash at a Diamond Exchange in downtown Los Angles on December 14, 2010. The crime was captured on high resolution video.

Since at least October, members of gangs in the Los Angeles area have also been traveling to small and mid-size towns throughout Southern California, robbing largely unprotected jewelry stores and jewelry marts.

Anaheim, El Monte, Fullerton, Glendale, Huntington Park, Pasadena, Pico Rivera, Santa Ana, Brea and Placentia have reported robberies in the last three months.
