Shot Fired at Lauren and Bernard During Home Invasion in Buffalo Grove

Looking southbound on Lauren near Bernard in the neighborhood where a shot was fired in the air during a dispute or home invasion.

Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:00 a.m. Monday to the intersection of Lauren and Bernard for a report of a shot fired while people were arguing. A man was injured when he punched a rear window of a vehicle associated with the shooter. A male/black with dreadlocks shot a handgun in the air. As the case unfolded police learned there was possibly a home invasion in the 300 block of Lauren. The offenders were possibly inside the home in the 300 block of Lauren.

Police are also going door-to-door to check on the safety of residents and determine if there were any other witnesses to the crime.

Offenders included a male/black shooter, a male/white described as a bald subject, and a female, who fled in a newer model silver coupe 4-door southbound on Lauren. Another subject — either a male/black or a male/white, wearing a yellow hoodie, fled northbound on foot on Lauren.
