Power Outage North Arlington Heights, Primary Electric Lines Affected

Arlington Heights police and firefighters responded about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a blown transformer near the Chicago Futabakai Japanese School in the 2500 block of North Arlington Heights Road. Some stoplight reported out in the area, and power is out in neighborhoods to the east of the school and north of the school at least up to University Drive.

Firefighters report three fuses blown on a primary line near the school after a witness reported a bright flash in the area of the utility pole and a transformer. Com Ed is notified. About 840 customers reported without power.

The area has had some power trouble, including lines down, in the past few weeks. Com Ed has been working in the area the past few weeks.
