Lake County Sheriff Pursuit Ends in Crash in Marriott Lincolnshire Golf Course

Lake County Sheriff’s deputies were in pursuit of a white Jeep Cherokee just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The driver was wanted for domestic battery. The pursuit began at Wilson Road and Illinois Route 120, near Round Lake Beach between Lakemoor and Grayslake. The chase proceeded south on Wilson Road, then to eastbound Route 60 and eastbound on Route 45. The chase continued southbound 45/21 and into the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, where the suspect crashed the Jeep Cherokee in the Marriott Lincolnshire golf course near the Crane’s Landing Golf Club facility. The suspect was in custody about 3:35 a.m. Sunday.

Lincolnshire was on the scene. Buffalo Grove police were converging on the area of the pursuit, which ended within minutes of the offender arriving in the area just northeast of Buffalo Grove. Police departments from Mundelein, Vernon Hills and Lincolnshire were notified of the pursuit. Wheeling police were also aware of the chase.

An early report from a source incorrectly name the Chevy Chase Golf Course at the location of the crash.
