Hot Water Ruse and Burglary on Knollwood Drive in Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove police responded to report of a burglary ruse on Monday in the 800 Block of Knollwood Drive. The ruse and burglary crime is reported to have occurred between noon and 1pm on Monday October, 18, 2010.

A resident was approached by three subjects who stated that they were working next door and they needed some hot water. The resident took one of the subjects inside to get the water, leaving the other two subjects unattended. When the resident’s daughter returned home she found that a jewelry case was tampered and jewelry was missing from the box in the bedroom.
