Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics and police responded to a townhouse fire on Old Oak Oak Court East in the 100 bock of Old Oak Drive just before 7:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters reported smoke showing upon arrival and worked an aggressive attack on the second floor — although the fire may have started on the first floor.

The aggressive attack was important in stopping the spread of the fire while the area was under a National Weather Service High Wind Warning.

Fire departments from Arlington Heights, Long Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods and others assisted Buffalo Grove Fire Department, which also had other storm-related calls ongoing.

A cat at the residence was rescued and administered an oxygen.
