Elk Grove: Man, Woman Found Shot, Dead at Boardwalk Condos, Another Man Found Shot, Dead in Van

Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:30 a.m. to a report of gunshots in a basement level of units of Boardwalk Condominium building, northwest of Arlington Heights Road and Biesterfield in Elk Grove Village.

When police responded to the area, they noticed a van in the middle of a soccer field across the street. As they approached the van, a man inside the van shot himself, and the van became fully involved in flames. Police and firefighter/paramedics discovered the burning van with a body of the man and a rifle inside. Police forcibly entered the condo unit where the gunshots were heard, and discovered a man and woman shot, dead. All three of the deceased are adults.

The scenario is possibly a double homicide and suicide. The man in the van was possibly in his 50’s and the woman in the condo was possibly in her 50’s. The man in the condo was possibly in his 20’s.

Elk Grove Village police are investigating.
