DNA Test: Lower Body and Upper Body Parts Found in April and May Are a Match

Illinois State Police Forensic Crime Lab notified Arlington Heights police late last week that results of forensic testing and DNA tests have shown that the lower body part found April 16, 2010 near a dumpster at Marketview Apartments and the badly decomposed upper body part found in May at the south bank of the Des Plaines River in Lions Woods Forest Preserve near Golf Road and River Road are a match.

The death has been ruled a homicide due to blunt trauma to the skull.

The DNA did not produce match in a national database of DNA.

Arlington Heights police are working with the Cook County Sheriff’s office and the Cook County Forest Preserve Police investigating the case. The FBI has been called in to work on a facial reconstruction image to help in finding the identity of the body.
