Two Recent E-Mail Scams Reported to AHPD

SCAM ATTEMPTS: Two Arlington Heights residents were involved in recent attempted e-mail scams.

SCAM #1
Resident received an e-mail from an unknown person pretending to be their nephew. No money was lost.

SCAM #2
Offender used the resident’s e-mail account to send a mass email to the resident’s friends explaining that she was in Wales, England, was mugged and could not pay their hotel bill. No money was lost.
