An Arlington Heights police officer followed a red Chevy Aveo that would not stop — starting at about three blocks west of Arlington Heights Road and proceeding to Goebbert, to Busse to Pheasant Trail. At about 2:20 a.m. Saturday, the vehicle did not respond to police lights and sirens from several police vehicles while it continued at about 20 mph. A female driver finally stopped the vehicle at Busse and Pheasant Trail at about 2:30 a.m. The vehicle was discovered to have fresh front-end damage in the left quarter panel. Area departments were notified in case of any hit-and-run accidents in the area. Mount Prospect police assisted on the traffic stop.

Paramedics were called to check on the driver. Unknown if the driver was transported to the hospital or arrested DUI and transported to Arlington Heights police headquarters.
