Blackhawks President John McDonough to Bring Stanley Cup to Elk Grove Hometown Parade Saturday, No Players

The Stanley Cup will be honored with its own float during the Elk Grove Village Hometown Parade Satruday starting at 6:00 p.m. The parade steps off at Elk Grove Boulevard at Tonne Road and proceeds to Lions Drive.

The Stanley Cup will be presented on a float with Blackhawks President John McDonough (a 25-year Elk Grove Village resident), Mayor Craig Johnson, and Elk Grove Village trustees. No Blackhawks players are planning to attend.

The parade theme for 2010 is “Star Spangled Salute to America”.

The parade route runs westbound on Elk Grove Boulevard from Tonne Road to Lions Drive. The distance is 0.9 miles.

Step-off time is 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 — road closures will begin at approximately 5:00 p.m.
