Driver Arrested After Taking Out Sign in Median at Northwest Highway and Dryden Place

Arlington Heights police responded to a report about 9:45 a.m. Sunday of a crash involving a gray sports car with a driver appearing intoxicated at Northwest Highway and Dryden Place. The car crashed into a sign in the median, just south of the intersection. Police found a Pontiac Solstice Roadster with moderate damage parked in the parking lot of Walgreens, but did not find the driver at first. Police then found the driver walking northbound on the sidewalk on the east side of Dryden Place.

Police arrested the driver and transported him in custody to Arlington Heights Police Headquarters. The driver’s vehicle was not driveable and was towed from the scene.

Charges for the arrest are unknown at this time.
