#ad▼

Chicago Fire Department firefighters and divers responded just before noon to a report of a car in the water 3400 North at Belmont Harbor — right across from the third dock. Divers were released from a Chicago Fire Department helicopter that first discovered the vehicle submerged in the water. Divers were in the water by 12:05 p.m.

UPDATE: Body identified as Syed Naqi’s on Tuesday May 25, 2010.

Chicago Fire Department divers quickly reported that the operation would be a recovery when they found a body inside the car. No word on how long the car and body had been in the water.

The body was found in a green Honda Civic, the identical color, make and model associated with Syed Naqi, 22, a student at Roosevelt from Elk Grove Village. Investigators are working to identify the body that was found inside the car.
