Jason Keith Hudgins, 29, of the 1200 block of South College Street in Auburn, Alabama, and Andrews John Evans, 34, of the 600 block of Overlook Road in Fultondale, Alabama, have been charged with burglary and criminal damage to property in Lake County, and multiple burglaries in Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois.
A big break in the case occurred when video surveillance showed the common link of a Dodge Avenger from a burglary in the 400 block of Milwaukee Avenue in Lincolnshire, and a burglary to a business near green Bay Road and Park Avenue in Highland Park. A Dodge Avenger was also recognized in two burglaries in downstate Illinois in Montgomery County. All burglaries occurred on March 14.
On March 19, a Wheeling police officer spotted the suspected vehicle, but the suspects fled. Later that day Hudgins was arrested after the vehicle was spotted, Evans fled in the vehicle. Next, the Indianapolis police spotted the Dodge Avenger and were able to arrest Evans.
