Bike Theft on South Pine Avenue

Arlington Heights police received a report about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday of a bike theft overnight in the 1200 block of South Pine Avenue. The bike was stolen about three blocks from a vehicle burglary and an attempted vehicle burglary on Haven Street — 400 East in Arlington Heights and 2100 West in Mount Prospect. The Mount Prospect case involved two subjects inside a car with one offender having a bike. Mount Prospect police responded to a report about 9:05 p.m. of a burglary in progress that was broken up by a citizen in the 2100 block of West Haven Street in Mount Prospect. The citizen yelled after he saw the two offenders in or near a car attempting to burglarize it.

One offender was wearing a bright orange hooded sweatshirt. Arlington Heights police were alerted to be on the lookout in the neighborhood.

No known arrests no this case.
